Some service providers out there are making it possible for you travel with your pet. It may sound easy, but it can be tricky, and also your pets need to be handled with the utmost care and affection. They need to get just as much as attention as the normal human passengers. There are many pet traveling tips that can help you.
- You can check in your pets as baggage: cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, rabbits, humming birds, guinea pigs and marmots make it to the list. Not all species are allowed to be checked in as baggage but most are. You can book your baggage beforehand and some flights even offer two kennels per flight.
- You can carry your pet on as cargo: This again is restricted to cats, dogs and caged birds. For this you need to show a health certificate issued by your veterinarian. There are other conditions that they have to be at least 10 months old and vaccinated etc…if you are traveling to South Africa, United Kingdom or Honk Kong then your pets need to be put down in the cargo and are not allowed to travel in plane.
- Lastly, your pets can even travel as cargo. Only warn blooded animals are allowed to travel in this case, but you have to prove that they are not a threat to the flight. Show animals are allowed too. This is a safe way of travel, but make sure that your animals are aware of their cages, have a tag, and should not be wearing a collar or muzzle.
