Selfies have gained immense popularity, log onto Facebook or any other social media site and you’ll immediately see a barrage of selfies. It has become a modern trend which will not die out anytime soon, in fact with the advent of applications like Snapchat it will only become more popular. In order to have an idea of the ‘selfie’s’ popularity here’s a fact: Instagram has 53 million pictures with the hashtag selfie. And of course during a holiday it is almost obligatory to take a ton of selfies. The following travel selfie tips will get you on top of your game.
Don’t be Shy
You’re on holiday and you might not get another chance, so do not be afraid of what people might think. Go ahead, extend an arm and get snapping. In all probability, ten people around you will be doing the same.
Be Creative
Make use of things around you. See your reflection in a mirror? Go ahead and take a picture. Like a statue posing oddly? Strike up a similar pose and snap.
Sharing is Caring
Group selfies are a norm at functions (remember Ellen’s Oscar Selfie?), so if you’re traveling with friends, why not fit in as many into the frame as possible. Or you could take a selfie with a random group of locals. Always fun.
The Perspective
Balance the phone on the ground or somewhere else and take a unique picture. A selfie stick is a great option as well.
Tell a Story
Be sure to take a selfie in every interesting location so when you look back on these pictures they tell you a story worth remembering.
